Woe to You, Anita Cadonau-Huseby!

Ken Silva at Apprising Ministries is a great inspiration. I have referenced his writing over at my personal blog, and will continue to do so, provided what he says continues to line up with the Word of God. But, in this post, I don't think he was forceful enough.

You see, in that post, he referenced a group called SisterFriends Together, a group which is in a self described "spiritual partnership" with Peace Lutheran Church. I went to the website and looked around. They have a lot of writing there designed for the purpose of legitimizing their sinful homosexual lifestyle. Who runs this group? Anita Cadonau-Huseby, an alleged "minister" who has figured out how to proclaim being a "follower of Christ", while leading an unrepentant lesbian lifestyle. How do I know she's unrepentant? She has a poem called "The Straight Pill" where she says that if she could take a pill to be straight, she wouldn't. Let's unpack that.

"If I could take a pill that would help me end my lifestyle of sin, I wouldn't take it" is what she's saying. Why? The Bible is clear on homosexual behavior. It is a sin. It's a sin, just like two, unmarried straight people having sexual intercourse is a sin. However, homosexual behavior is referred to in Leviticus as "an abomination" (Leviticus 18:22). Before you jump all over me and say, "Well that's for the Israelites. It doesn't apply to us under the new covenant". If you read the VERY NEXT verse, Leviticus 18:23, it says you shouldn't have intercourse with any animal, it is a perversion. Was that just for the Israelites as well? Under the New Covenant with Christ, are we free to engage in relations with various animals? No. So that argument doesn't hold water.

My issue with Anita, and why I'm calling her out by name and saying "Woe to you" is that she justifies her sin and pulls others down with her. The entire SisterFriends Together site is one giant propaganda piece which if believed will get people into hell. Regardless of whether or not they prayed a prayer, felt sincere, felt God's love, or any of the other feel good verses, God hates your sin. He hates my sin! But His Son said the following in Luke 17:1-2:

"It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble."

Yes, God loves us all. He sent His Son to die for us, so that we might have eternal life. God made all of us. He made me. My nature (which I have to die to on a regular basis) is to lie to, and manipulate others. I also have struggled in the past with pornography, and constantly have to avert my eyes. However, this is only because of the saving grace of Jesus Christ and His Spirit in me. Without it, I'd be a wretched man, trying to control everyone around me, I'd probably be single because my wife wouldn't have stayed with me due to my former propensity for sexual sin. However, God made me who I am. I was born a certain way, yes. But I DON'T HAVE TO STAY THAT WAY.

Anita, you have turned your sin into an idol. You've made your sin part of who you are, as opposed to something to flee from. In addition to that, you've provided justification for others to continue in their sinful lifestyles. If you were attending a Bible believing church, they'd have removed you from the congregation. Not just ministry or teaching, but the congregation, per 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. It's time for you to stop misleading others, and twisting Scripture to do it. It's not too late. You can repent, ask God for forgiveness and then go out speaking the truth. I pray that you do repent and speak the truth, before God hardens your heart.

But, as of right now, you are dead wrong. Your "outreach" is nothing more than a lie straight from Hell, and if you don't stop it, you'll end up there.

Up Next, "Church" Raves

I don't know how many people read this blog or know about me. A bit of backstory on your humble writer. I used to be a major scumbag. If you want a small glimpse of this, read some of the earliest posts on my personal blog...some of the vitriol I used to spew makes me ashamed. I have considered removing or editing the profanity. How can I call myself a bondservant of Christ, but leave up posts where I drop multiple f-bombs? Well, I leave them up because I have changed since I've encountered Christ. My writing reflects this, and I want it to be known that it's all because of Him. Not me. Because we've seen what Yemi is capable of alone. Continuing...

While deep in my sin, I attended raves. For those who don't know what a "rave" is, here is the Wikipedia link. I started taking drugs while there...especially MDMA (ecstasy). I really wish I could put into words how MDMA affects the mind. I'm not referring to the physiological response. I'm talking about the impact the drug has on your actions and state of mind while under its influence. My words can't do it justice. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the second video here should fill up an almanac. Around the three minute mark, the woman asks, "How many people understand ecstasy?". The man says, "Ravers understand ecstasy".

Former ravers (drug using and non-using) have all had a conversation similar to the one in the video. When I say that, I mean they have spoken to someone in the middle of a roll (under the influence of ecstasy) and heard them use terms like, "feeling it in every cell of my being" and other asinine language. This young woman is clearly focused on hedonistic pleasure, but somehow thinks it is okay, since she's referencing Jesus in it. "I'm on the Jesus pill right now" she says. If I didn't know better, I would swear she was on ecstasy...or running a phone sex chat line.

It's disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. It's supposed to get worse too. Really? Do we really want to compare the Savior of the World, the Son of the God who created Heaven and Earth, to a twenty dollar pill? Should we refer to the cross as the "crack (rock cocaine) of Heaven"?

Am I the only one angry about this?

Gay Dorms at "Christian" University

I live in Fort Worth, Texas, near Texas Christian University or TCU, as it is called here. Since the word "Christian" is in the university name, I assumed it would hold to those values. But, "Christian" has taken on new meanings as this site will chronicle. Imagine my surprise when I saw a news article where the school will set aside some apartments for gays and lesbians. I have linked to the article, but since most news sites remove articles after a certain period of time, I will copy and paste the text in the body of this post (a practice I began on my personal blog).

(Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

FORT WORTH — Texas Christian University will designate some on-campus apartments for gay students and their supporters, creating what may be the only such college housing in the region.

The DiversCity Q community will open in the fall in a section of the Tom Brown-Pete Wright apartments. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students and allies — heterosexual classmates who support them — will have the chance to live together. Eight students have committed to the community so far, said TCU sophomore Shelly Newkirk, who applied to create the program.

TCU will also open two Christian-based living groups, another for fine arts and three other themed housing arrangements.

It’s all part of the university’s living-learning communities, designed for students who want to live with others who are like-minded.

"It’s a chance for students to be part of a unique experience," said David Cooper, TCU associate director for residential life. It’s also important to universities because students who feel a connection to their school are more likely to stay.

Options

Living-learning communities are common at universities in Denton and Tarrant counties, but none has an on-campus living program for gay students. A fraternity for gay and straight students opened in 1998 at the University of North Texas but had closed by 2001, UNT spokeswoman Sarah Bahari said.

Nationally, some colleges offer "gender neutral" housing to relieve what could be an uncomfortable situation for gay students. Such students are allowed to select a roommate of the opposite sex.

For example, since 2005 at Louis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., which has about 3,000 undergraduates, two or three rooms a semester are available for a gay male and a gay female to live together, said Vanessa Fawbush, college public relations officer. Students are interviewed to ensure that heterosexual students aren’t seeking a room together, she said.

"My understanding is that it’s nice to have the option," she said.

Mutual support

Cooper said TCU opens its living-learning communities to student ideas and sees "what they come up with."

This year’s groups include Leadership and Strengths Community for students who want to become leaders, the Green House for student interested in the environment and the Health and Wellness Community for students interested in healthy living.

Among the other groups for fall are one for patriotism in various cultures and a marine life group that will examine how the ocean affects the environment.

Newkirk, who is gay, helped lead the effort for the DiversCity Q housing area. She said her vision is that it will be a place where gay and straight students can interact and hang out.

She said she also plans to have programs for the general TCU community that will include speakers and maybe programs about gays in the media and gays in general.

Such programs offer gay students a way to offer mutual support and create a community, said Nancy Tubbs, director of the LGBT Resource Center at the University of California-Riverside, which also offers gender-neutral and a living-learning community similar to TCU’s. Because straight students can join the living-learning community, it’s not self-segregating, said Tubbs, who grew up in College Station. "I think it’s wonderful that TCU is offering this," Tubbs said.

Newkirk said she was bracing for criticism, given the largely conservative politics of many TCU students.

"Surprisingly, I found nothing but support," she said.

Cooper said he also has fielded no criticism.

Even if she receives push-back, Newkirk said, that can have its advantages.

"Sometimes those things can bring a community together," she said. "It doesn’t have to tear us apart."

Yes. You read that correctly. Texas Christian University is setting aside dorms for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students. I went to the TCU site and took a look at their mission, and their vision.

Mission:
To educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.

Vision: To create a world-class, values-centered university experience for our students.

Whose values? Seriously? So I dug deeper. TCU is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I went to the site, and took a look at the Four Priorities of the Church. I will list the 4 here, in case the link ever changes.
1. Becoming a Pro-reconciling/anti-racist church.
2. Formation of 1000 new congregations by 2020.
3. Transformation of 1000 current congregations by 2020.
4. Leadership development necessary to realize these new and renewed congregations.

I then did some research into their beliefs, so I went to Wikipedia. I could post more and more, but you should look for yourself. Pay attention to the beliefs of the Modern Disciples. It's textbook cognitive dissonance in the Church. It's no wonder that the university is confused. I think back to when I was 8 years old, just over 20 years ago. If you had told me that in 2009, a Christian university would set aside special housing for men who like to have sex with other men, women who like to have sex with other women, people who like to do both, and people who want to change their genders, I'd have thought you were insane. I still can't believe I'm living in this time.

My wife just came in and asked what I was feverishly typing. When I told her she said, "It's sad that modern Christianity has turned into one big tolerance party. If you don't accept it, you're a bigot, homophobe or religious nut". I married a brilliant woman.

Apostasy is Virulent

It's like a disease. The Bible is absolutely correct in 1 Corinthians 15:33, where it is said, "Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals". Have you ever noticed how you don't catch someone's good health, but if you're near a sick person, you catch that? Apostasy works the same way. I am saddened by the churches who continually align themselves with the "goat herders" (as The Curator over at A Little Leaven calls them).

Manny Silva over at Reformed Nazarene linked to this post. Reading it broke my heart, because once you start down the wrong path, it always takes time to correct yourself. If you start heading down a path that's just a little bit wrong, and keep heading in that direction, you end up somewhere completely different than where you intended.

But, the pastors who go down this path anger me. It's not violent anger. It's righteous anger, which can co-exist with sadness. Because so many souls will be lost due to the perversion of the gospel. Instead of seeing if the teaching of "their pastors" is in line with what the Word of God says, they're followers. They follow this new, hip, emerging, inclusive doctrine. John MacArthur had it correct when he said that doctrine "separates true from false". Today's Christians are so afraid of offending people with the gospel, that they just focus on how easy it is to be one of His.

Yes, salvation is unmerited favor. None of us deserve it. However, what good is it to present the love aspect of the gospel, without a dose of the harsh truth? What is that truth? You believe in Jesus AND repent (which is a fancy word for turn away from) of your sins (which means you run away from sin, which separates us from God), or you choose an eternity of torment, complete separation from God forever.

That last part sounds a bit heavy, doesn't it? I would be doing a grave disservice to the Lord, as well as to you if I didn't offer the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Everyone has a choice: Jesus or Hell. There's no middle ground.

But, pastors like the one mentioned on the places I have linked to, are following the next in thing, like teenagers desperate for a pair of Seven jeans or Reebok Pumps (yes, I just gave a clue about my age). When someone comes along who is willing to confront the error, they are usually asked to leave. I wonder if the pastor even picked up his Bible to try and defend himself with scripture. My guess? Probably not.

The author says, "I am not writing this so people will go out and try and sniff out evil in their church". However, we MUST be so grounded in scripture and prayer that anything like the "Emergent Movement" gets squashed before it starts.

Remember people, the devil has been using the same play since the beginning of human history. We are under attack, not only from the outside, but from within. Gather up your weapons for the daily battles.

Make sure to read this.

The Highway To Hell...At a Church Near You!

(H/T to A Little Leaven)

On Easter Sunday, the day of Christ's resurrection, the day which is central to our faith as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, the folks at NewSpring Church will be opening their service with that classic church hymnal, "Highway to Hell". Oh, haven't heard that one? It's by rockers AC/DC. Yes, I am aware that the Wikipedia entry I linked to claims that the song was written to describe what it was like for the band to constantly be on tour. But, let's take a look at what the lyrics say.

Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Dont need reason, dont need rhyme
Aint nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

Im on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobodys gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobodys gonna mess me round
Hey satan, payed my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey momma, look at me
Im on my way to the promised land

Im on the highway to hell
(dont stop me)

And Im going down, all the way down
Im on the highway to hell

Hmmmm...is this really the song I want to glorify my Lord and Savior on the day he rose from the dead? This is the filth that is present in the modern church folks. But why should we expect any different from a pastor who when confronted by those who disagree with him, resorts to infantile attacks (See #4 on Perry's list)? The man of God cannot be the man of the world.

So Why P & T Revisited?

If you look at my blogroll, a lot of those authors cover the continuing threat to Truth posed by the Emergent "Church", as well as others who want to focus on a warm fuzzy kind of Christianity. At my personal blog, I refer to this phenomenon as Burger King Theology. Specifically, a way you can "have it your way". It's a way of saying, "what's true for you, may not be true for me". Now, I'm an expert at recognizing this deception, because for a long time, I was under this delusion...the delusion that as long as I believed in Jesus and apologized a lot (repent sounded so DIVISIVE), everything would be okay. I'd be going to Heaven. Well, that is not completely true. In fact, it's not true at all. Because when you come to faith in Jesus, there should be a change. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:16, "You will know them by their fruits". Look at the Apostle Paul. After he came to faith in Jesus, he stopped persecuting Christians and wrote most of the New Testament. If he'd professed faith in Jesus, and then kept persecuting Christians, it would be an example of "having it his way". Why should there be a change? Because the person is born again! They are a new creation in Christ Jesus. This is not to say that they won't sin, because we ALL fall short. But there shouldn't be a pattern of unrepentant sin in their life.

So, what spurred the creation of a new blog? I was reading John's Story of The Jesus Chronicles (which is a work of fiction, not gospel), and I got to the part where he is writing Revelation. I began reading about the 7 churches, and then consulted my Bible. Chapter 2 of Revelation mentions 4 churches. Two of those churches, Pergamum and Thyatira caught my attention. I've been using the MacArthur Study Bible, an NASB translation, and those two churches are labeled as "The Compromising Church" and "The Corrupt Church", respectively. After reading, and re-reading the text (which I will post at the end of the entry), it became clear to me. Many modern churches have compromised, and some have compromised so much, that they have become corrupt.

There are a lot of blogs which brings this to light. However, I'd like to add my voice to this. Like the others on my blogroll, I will call people out. I will name names, and use Scripture to support my points. Why? This isn't an issue that is minor. This is an ETERNAL issue. Those who don't know the truth and don't find out about the truth will be spending eternity being tormented in Hell, completely separated from God. I have a duty as a believer and bondservant of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring the truth to them. So...here we go.

Revelation 2:12-29:

Message to Pergamum (The Compromising Church)

12"And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this:

13'I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

14'But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality.

15'So you also have some who in the same way hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

16'Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of My mouth.

17'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.'

Message to Thyatira (The Corrupt Church)

18"And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this:

19'I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first.

20'But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.

21'I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality.

22'Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds.

23'And I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.

24'But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they call them--I place no other burden on you.

25'Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come.

26'He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS;

27AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father;

28and I will give him the morning star.

29'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
